Seeing Blue

Last night, I covered the Dodger's Game at the LA Coliseum. The boys in blue were celebrating the Big 5-0...and the fact that they were playing the game at the Coliseum was historic. Not since 1961 have the Dodgers played here! Before Dodger Stadium was created, the Dodgers called the Coliseum home from 1958 - 1961.

Over 110,000 fans were in attendance, and the Coliseum is equipped to seat 97,000 baseball fans. It was the most attended baseball game in history! To fit all the extra people, they opened up "standing room only" areas.

The Dodgers lost to the Boston Red Sox 7 - 4, so let's just say fans were fired up. And if you think the game was crazy, it didn't compare to my liveshot after the game. The lights came on...and it was like moths to a flame. I got a few words out before my story aired, but after I came back live, craziness ensued. The crowd got so rowdy, I got bowled over, literally, on live TV.

It was a sea of blue...and after this shot, I was seeing black and blue. You can see the clip on KTLA.com. Good times.

Back in the US

Debbie and I have touched down in LA. We had the best trip to London and Paris, but it's great to be home. Plus, now we're broke, but it was worth it. Au revoir fine wine and pain au chocolat - bon jour Diet Coke and crackers. Reality check! I'll be back on the KTLA airwaves this Sunday. Stay tuned.

Paris Rocks

Bon Jour Everyone - Debbie and I are still enjoying our trip to Europe. We had the best time in London, but now we're scoping out Paris. For the past five days, we've been running around this city...checking out everything from the Eiffel Tower to Versailles. Paris is absolutely incredible...and we've walked 5000 miles. Cue the music! Who knew traveling abroad could be such great exercise?!?

I think by now, we've also become quite good at navigating around via the metro. If only LA could build an underground system like Paris. While exploring the city, I've discovered my new favorite snack...crepes with Nutella and banana. Nutella is very popular here in Europe...it's like a peanut-butter/chocolate spread. Good thing for all this walking or I'd come back 200 pounds heavier. The only landmark we haven't seen yet is the Louvre, but we plan to hit that up tomorrow. We have five more days in Paris, and we plan to rock this city until the very last minute. MG
